From PrePoMax to cloudHPC

CloudHPC has now expanded its functionalities with regards to Calculix. This is a Finite Element Software very popular in mechanical engineering applications that allows to execute a number of analysis such as:

  • static analysis
  • dynamic analysis
  • modal analysis
  • buckling analysis

All these analysis can be linear or non linear in terms of material, geometry or contact between parts. In general Calculix is a very flexible software.

Beyond that, Calculix comes out with PrePoMax: this is a user interface which allows you to set-up easily the FEM analysis, which otherwise would require you to input a text file manually. With PrePoMax you can import your geometry file in STEP format, assign materials from an internal database and set-up your FEM simulation using a guided procedure which allows you move easily between all the features of this FEM solver.

Today we are happy to show you a guided procedure from PrePoMax to cloudHPC: in the following video you can check every step you have to make in order to define your analysis and then execute it using remote computing power. This configuration allows you to really speed up your FEM analysis and use up to 224 vCPU or run multiple scenarios at the same time.

Beyond that, this PrePoMax to cloudHPC procedure, generates VTK files which can be opened in ParaView to make your results postProcessing .

CloudHPC is a HPC provider to run engineering simulations on the cloud. CloudHPC provides from 1 to 224 vCPUs for each process in several configuration of HPC infrastructure - both multi-thread and multi-core. Current software ranges includes several CAE, CFD, FEA, FEM software among which OpenFOAM, FDS, Blender and several others.

New users benefit of a FREE trial of 300 vCPU/Hours to be used on the platform in order to test the platform, all each features and verify if it is suitable for their needs
